Hey y'all!!
I've never made a blog before, so here it goes! A bunch of my family and friends have been asking me all kinds of questions about my upcoming adventures in Disney World, so I figured the best way to reach the masses would be this blog. Plus, I love another opportunity to connect with my fellow College Programers.
For this first blog I figured I'd attempt to answer the age old question: why do you want to do the Walt Disney World College Program?
Well for starters, I love all things Disney. Always have. I was that little girl who had every princess dress in her costume box, and who loved her Ariel doll more than any of her other Barbies. I wore out my tapes of Beauty & the Beast and Mary Poppins, and I cried (still do) every time Mufasa died.
I was barely three years old the first time I went to Disney World. According to my mom, we were walking around Epcot when I spotted a familiar mouse. My cousins, ages 6 and 9, were terrified and clung to my aunt as if their life depended on it. Not me. I waddled my little self up to Mickey and hugged him like he was a best friend that I hadn't seen in a while. If it wasn't clear already, I was hooked.
Disney makes me believe in magic, and that's why I want to work there. No, I don't still believe that saying Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo will turn a pumpkin into a carriage or that I can ride a magic carpet off into a whole new world. But there is magic, and you can feel it every time you watch "Peter Pan" or stroll down Main Street, U.S.A.
And that magic, above all else, is why I want to do the Disney College Program. Well that, and Mickey and I go way back.
